About Teacher Help Files

With Teacher Help Files, you have a partner to help you with your teaching journey.

Hey there. I’m Anna, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a teacher just like you, and I thought I’d start by sharing a bit about myself.  At my core, I’m an athlete, a coach, a teacher, and a mom—often juggling all four at the same time.

I grew up playing basketball and volleyball and was fortunate to continue my volleyball career at Clemson University on a full scholarship, where I majored in Behavioral Science. After college, I stayed on the East Coast coaching and recruiting collegiate volleyball players at Western Carolina University before eventually heading back to the Midwest to coach at Iowa Western and College of Saint Mary. I loved college coaching, but the lifestyle was unpredictable, and I knew I wanted to put down roots and build something long-term.

That brought me home to the same city where I grew up, competed, and won my own state championships. It’s the city I still love and the place I’ve chosen to raise my family. I earned a teaching position at the same school where I was coaching and went back to school through an intense program that meant classes every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an entire year (yes, every Saturday). During the week, I worked as a special education para and coached high school volleyball. I eventually completed a Master’s-level degree with teaching endorsements in 7–12 Health & Physical Education and Social Sciences.

Fast forward about 15 years, and I’m still here—teaching high school Health and PE, mostly freshmen, and loving it. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to create and refine my own curriculum. In the gym, that means modifying games, inventing new ones, and designing workouts that are challenging but actually fun. One of my favorite compliments is when students tell me they don’t dread coming to PE and appreciate the light-hearted, welcoming environment in both the gym and the classroom.

Why I Created Teacher Help Files

Why I Created TeacherHelpFiles.com

Let’s be real …teaching has gotten harder, not easier. And as much as we love our jobs, no one has time to reinvent the wheel every Sunday night.

In the classroom, my focus is on real-life, usable learning. We talk about nutrition, energy drinks, and taking care of your body, but also about practical skills like building your first résumé, applying for part-time jobs, and reflecting on habits that impact long-term health. My goal is always to give students tools they’ll actually use.

Alongside teaching, I have coached high school volleyball for many years and was fortunate to be part of three state championship teams (this time as a coach, in the same city where I once won them as a player). When my own kids started getting involved in youth sports, I made the intentional decision to step back from high school coaching so I could be present for them—on the sidelines, in the gym, and at practice.

That’s where TeacherHelpFiles.com comes in. We are creating a growing library of ready-to-use teaching PDFs, created from real classrooms, real experience, and real student feedback. What I have to offer isn’t fancy, fluffy, one-size-fits-all printables. They’re files I’ve personally used with students and are files that work.

My Mission

  • Bring the fun back into teaching and learning.

the why behind teacher help files...

Motherhood has shaped me just as much as athletics and education. I had my first daughter in the summer of 2015, followed by twins just eight months later (no, that’s not a typo). The twins were born two months early, which resulted in two maternity leaves during the same school year—an experience that forced me to become exceptionally organized, flexible, and efficient.

After the twins, our journey included profound loss: more than seven miscarriages and a heartbreaking 37-week loss that forever changed how I view strength and resilience. Through all of that, we were eventually blessed with our miracle baby—a now two-year-old born at just 29 weeks—who is a daily reminder of perseverance, perspective, and hope.

All of those experiences show up in how I teach and how I connect with students. I believe in effort, accountability, humor, and meeting kids where they are. I believe learning should feel human and meaningful. And I believe there’s something incredibly powerful about building a life—and a career—in the same community that helped shape you. If any of this speaks to you, then please let me know. We, as a teaching community, need to connect with each other.
